I grew up near the sea, where I learned to read the waters and fished inshore/offshore, following my grandfather and father. I started at 4 years old, casting spinning reels in the marsh, as well as bottom fishing on shipwrecks, oyster reefs, and offshore oil platforms.
My heritage is of Cajun descent, from south Louisiana, one hour south of New Orleans in southern Plaquemines Parish. Now you know where the name “New Orleans de Panama” comes from.
After fishing the Pacific coast of Panama for over a decade now, I am well-versed in the local fishing knowledge of this area and specialize in variable trolling techniques using six lines over underwater mountain range shelves, lava, and coral reefs.
I have fished in many countries while visiting the islands of the Caribbean Sea and Bahamas, as well as Costa Rica, Colombia, Hawaii, and Panama, for 20 years now.
